This musical revue at the Charing Cross Theatre is set to feature both Gary Wilmot and Clare Buckfield in lead roles whilst the acclaimed Andrew C Wadsworth sets his sights on directing. It lands at the London theatre in March and tells the story of ghosts Albert and Penny, the latter in limbo and wanting to move on to the afterlife proper and the latter holding him back as she is convinced that she is still alive. With the theatrical event of the time on the horizon – A Bowl of Cherries – we witness their tale through various evenings as we also glimpse the stage show itself.
Gary Wilmot is an actor whose work has spanned the stage and screen with credits like “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at Regent’s Park’s Open Air Theatre and “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” at the London Palladium.
Meanwhile, Andrew C Wadsworth has worked both on the stage and behind the scenes as an actor and director. As an actor he has been nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award for “Kiss Me Kate” at the Open Air Theatre.
Audiences wishing to pick up theatre tickets to witness “A Bowl of Cherries” can witness the show at the Charing Cross Theatre (formerly the New Player’s Theatre) from Thursday 8th March 2012 (previews from Tuesday 6th March 2012) to Saturday 31st March 2012.
