Christmas With Lee Mead
Arriving in the capital this Christmas is one of the best known names in the world of West End musical theatre – Lee Mead! Appearing at the London Coliseum for a one-off Christmas showcase, it will be a wonderful opportunity for audiences to see in the holiday season with style as the Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat star tells us about his life and career. It will give a unique insight into a reality television sensation, who went from an understudy in The Phantom of the Opera to the lead in Joseph thanks to the BBC series Any Dream Will Do.
Christmas with Lee Mead will see him perform a range of well known Christmas songs, in addition to a range of other hits tracks, ensuring that audiences get a great evening of entertainment that will show off the talents of Mead beyond his well known musical theatre roles. So expect to get to know him a little bit better as he fills in London theatre audiences on his career in the spotlight, his music and life destined for the stage. Mead had already begun to emerge in the theatre scene prior to his appearance in Any Dream Will Do, demonstrating his talents in touring versions of Joseph and Miss Saigon and as an understudy in The Phantom of the Opera and ensuring that his time in the spotlight was inevitable. But the BBC series gave him the attention he required to be cast in huge productions and after landing the lead role of Joseph also went on to appear in another West End blockbuster Wicked. Such appearances have ensured that there has been a large fan base flocking to witness his solo concert appearances over the years as well, as well as his first role in a play – a touring version of Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime.
