“Dirty Dancing: The Classic Story Live on Stage” is now set to head to the Palace Theatre in Manchester as part of its regular stints at regional theatres across the United Kingdom. The show will give audiences a chance to witness the classic story from the hit 1980s movie as it heads to a new home and delights crowds once again with its romantic and explosive plot.
Made famous in the early 1980s, “Dirty Dancing” featured Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey as dance instructor Johnny and his student ‘Baby’ Houseman as he provides her with lessons whilst she vacations with her family in the Catskill Mountains. But when their relationship moves forward a notch they realise there are plenty of obstacles in their path. Songs such as “She’s Like the Wind” and “(I’ve Had) The Tim of My Life” were made famous thanks to the movie.
And the magic that was witnessed on the silver screen is retained for the stage show and this is why it was one of the most popular musicals in the West End during its run there. So with a talented team of performers taking to the stage, not to mention a stand-out story and unbeatable work behind the scenes, “Dirty Dancing” will have people clamouring for theatre tickets.
“Dirty Dancing: The Classic Story Live on Stage” is at the Palace Theatre in Manchester from Tuesday 22nd November 2011 to Saturday 7th January 2012.
