Ever since he was in his mid-teens Miguel Poveda has been singing and dancing, cementing his progression to one of the most exciting flamenco singers the world has to offer. So as makes his way to Sadler’s Wells in 2011, following after the renowned dancer Isreal Galván only a day earlier with “Le Edal de Oro”, audiences are likely to follow him and ensure that he gets the crowd that he deserves. With “Recital Flamenco” he will once again be proving that what he lacks in Andalucían blood he more than makes up for with stage presence, vocal ability and sheer popularity.
The star has released a range of albums over the years, including “Suena Flamenca” and “Tierra de Calma”, and has also appeared in films such as “La teta y la luna” and over time he has managed to build up an audience and reputation to make him one of the best known flamenco performers around. He has performed on prestigious stages worldwide and opened many people’s eyes to the deeper world of flamenco and is set to do this once again as London theatre audiences get in on the action.
Miguel Poveda’s “Recital Flamenco” appears at Sadler’s Wells Theatre on Thursday 10th February 2011.
