The Centaur and the Animal

Once acts from the Flamenco Festival London 2011 have finished bringing their popular forms of expression to Sadler’s Wells in February and William Forsyth has brought his show “I Don’t Believe in Outer Space” shortly after, the venue welcomes a different kind of animal. Early in March Bartabas brings his latest show “The Centaur and the Animal” to the London theatre, making it the first time that the horse trainer, rider and stage director has come to the capital to perform. As a result, London theatre audiences are not going to want to miss out on what is likely to be a stand-out performance.

But then those with theatre tickets will be witnessing a real treat with “The Centaur and the Animal” as Bartabas welcomes four horses to the stage and creates a performance piece that contains within it dressage and man’s relationship with the majestic animals. With his company the Zingaro Equestrian Theatre, based in Paris, he has been doing this for many years and it means that it should translate into something truly memorable when it arrives at the home of London dance.

The Centaur and the Animal runs at Sadler’s Wells Theatre from Tuesday 1st March 2011 to Sunday 6th March 2011.
