Every Christmas an array of shows emerge in the West End that allow us to celebrate the festive season in style, whether it is annual tradition of “The Snowman” at the Peacock Theatre or the Rat Pack who, this year, appear in “Christmas with the Rat Pack” at the Wyndham’s Theatre. However, one show will be arriving in the capital that will promise a completely different experience from October as “Office Party” begins a 16-week run at the Product Solutions Head Office. It does exactly what it says on the tin – provides audiences with an unforgettable office party!
Conceived by the likes of Ursula Martinez and Christopher Green, “Office Party” is a chance to take in a stand-out office party experience and is set to feature plenty of improvisation and memorable performances.
But then with Martinez and Green working on the production audiences would not expect anything less. After all, they have been behind a wealth of other stand-out classics and have also taken “Office Party” to other locations with great success – whether it is the Edinburgh Festival Fringe or London’s very own Barbican Theatre. So together they have been granting people office parties even if they don’t actually work in an office.
Ursula Martinez is a writer and performer whose work has encompassed various shows and routines. She is perhaps best known for her work with “La Clique” and its follow up “La Soiree” (the latter of which returns to the Roundhouse Theatre in 2011) in which she portrayed Hanky Panky, though she has also appeared in her own show “My Stories, Your Emails”. So it is safe to say she has provided an abundance of audiences worldwide with some unforgettable activities.
The interactive show features Martinez and Green alongside comedians and other performers in what should be the office party to end all office parties in 2011.
“Office Party” begins at the Product Solutions Head Office (near the Pleasance Theatre) from Friday 14th October 2011 for 16 weeks, with times changing on particular nights and certain nights (such as Christmas Eve, Day and Boxing Day etc) excluded from the run.
