The Arts Theatre is a West End venue in London that regularly hosts some innovative shows and stands up there alongside some of the best known theatres in the capital. This trend will easily continue in July 2011 as it welcomes “Park Avenue Cat” to its stage, which will not only feature a compelling and entertaining story but also an impressive cast - including “Coronation Street” actor Gray O’Brien.
The show also features Josefina Gabrielle in a lead part, in addition to the likes of Tessa Peake-Jones and Daniel Weyman, with Glen Walford taking on the role of director.
For those picking up Theatre Tickets to witness the production they will be witnessing a world premiere from the pen of writer Frank Strausser, making it a unique and stand-out show. It tells the story of a confused and out-of-his-depth therapist who resides in Los Angeles. As the plot progresses the therapist must deal with a particularly odd case that is beyond his normal experiences – one that involves two men and a very beautiful woman.
Gray O’Brien is a Scottish actor who is best known to audiences in the United Kingdom for his portrayal of Tony Gordon in the long-running soap “Coronation Street”. But when London theatre audiences see him arrive onstage they may also recognise him from the host of further credits to his name, which includes “Doctor Who”, “River City”, “Taggart” and “Casualty”, in addition to a role in the movie “The Queen”. He has also found experience on the stage with a role in the pantomime “Aladdin” at the Manchester Opera House.
And the show also features a Laurence Olivier Award-nominee amongst the cast in Josefina Gabrielle, who has appeared in a wide range of west end shows, including “Carousel” and “Oklahoma!”, the latter of which earning her an Oliver Award nomination (her second was for “Sweet Charity”, which appeared at the Menier Chocolate Factory). She has also appeared onscreen in the likes of “Auf Wiedersehen, Pet” and “Doctors”.
“Park Avenue Cat” will make its anticipated appearance at the Arts Theatre in London from Thursday 7th July 2011 (with previews from Friday 1st July 2011) to Saturday 20th August 2011.
