The band was originally formed by two members of the popular 90s rock band “Creed.” The members, Mark Tremonti and Scott Phillips decided that even though Creed had split, that they wanted to continue to make music. The pair called upon Brian Marshall (also an old member of Creed) and friend Myles Kennedy to complete the band. In August of 2004, the band released their first full length album titled ‘One Day Remains.’ The name of the album mirrored what the members thought about life: you should live as if only ‘one day remains.’ Tracks such as ‘Find the Real,’ Open Your Eyes’ and ‘Broken Wings’ all contributed to the album’s success. The album was received relatively well by critics.
The band had finished their tour to support their first album in 2006 and didn’t wait too long to begin recording their second album. In early 2007, the recording process started for ‘Blackbird;’ the band’s second release. In October, the album was completed and made available to the public. Tracks on the album included ‘Rise Today,’ ‘Before Tomorrow Comes’ and ‘Watch Over You.’ Blackbird quickly became the band’s most popular and acclaimed album, receiving a whopping nine and a half stars out of ten from TubeLab, and similar ratings from other respected critics.
The band has also released various other products, such as live DVDs from their tours. The DVDs show footage of the band members playing shows, goofing around and of course interacting with their ever-adoring fans.
