BRMC, as they are known, first formed back in 1998, with Peter Hayes and Robert Been joining forces in High School to perform music and recruiting English drummer Nick Jago to complete their line up. They soon made a name for themselves under the banner The Elements, but changed their name to the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club after watching Marlon Brando’s 1953 movie “The Wild One”, which featured a biker gang of the same name.
The Black Rebel Motorcycle Club have since released various albums that have made them highly popular. Their sound is reminiscent of classic ‘70s rock and more modern groups mixed together, from Led Zeppelin to Sonic Youth, with a back catalogue that consists of “B.R.M.C” (2001), “Take Them On, On Your Own” (2003), “Howl” (2005), “Baby 81” (2007), “The Effects of 333” (2008), “LIVE” (2009) and Beat the Devil’s Tattoo” (2010). Their decade at the top has seen them release angst-ridden tunes that remain in people’s heads long after they have listened, with their first two releases also speaking out against the US administration (“Generation” and “US Government”).
But like any band, their true home is onstage and it is here that Black Rebel Motorcycle Club truly shine. They easily provide fans with an evening to remember as they take to the stage and perform the songs that have made their name. As a result, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club tickets are must-have items.
