Their live shows offer a musical landscape with narrative based instrumental work and the result is a unique and memorable experience that will leave those with concert tickets glad they chose Explosions in the Sky to witness live. So as they return to the UK to perform in front of their British fans, expect them to be a popular draw.

The band is made up of three guitarists – Munaf Rayani, Mark Smith and Michael James (who also plays the bass guitar) – and a drummer – Chris Hrasky. Together they have put together a number of well-received songs plucked from their studio albums. Such tracks include the likes of “First Breath After Coma”, “Six Days at the Bottom of the Ocean”, “Memorial”, “So Long, Lonesome”, “Your Hand in Mind” and “The Birth and Death of the Day”, amongst others. Such musical landscapes have lead to natural comparisons to bands such as Mogwai and even God is an Astronaut, amongst others which, of course, can only be a good thing.

And there are plenty more where they came from. Explosions in the Sky released five studio albums between 2000 and 2007, beginning with “How  Strange, Innocence” in 2000 and progressing to “Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Die, Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Live Forever” in 2001. They then released “The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place” in 2003, “The Rescue” in 2005 and “All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone” in 2007. The high quality of the work found on these albums only adds to the demand for alternative and indie tickets when Explosions in the Sky are in town.

After it is live onstage where they will truly come to life and where Explosions in the Sky will make an even bigger impression that they have done with their albums. Such music is designed to be experienced in a live setting and this is where audiences will find something they will remember for some time to come.
