Mark Lanegan Tickets

In the 1980s, Lanegan formed a grunge rock band named The Screaming Trees  with a friend of his named Gary Lee Conner. Other members of the band included Van Conner, Barrett Martin, Josh Homme and Mark pickerel. The band released seven studio albums during the fifteen years that they played together.

When the band split up in 2000, Lanegan was asked to play with the rock band called Queens of the Stone Age. Lanegan played with the band for five years and since his departure from the band has collaborated with various other musicians such as Twilight Singers and Soulsavers. Although he spent much of his time helping out other musicians, Lanegan also created a solo project for himself. His first solo album was released in 1990 and was titled ‘The Winding Sheet.’ The album features thirteen tracks such as ‘Down in the Dark,’ ‘Where Did You Sleep Last Night,’ ‘I love You Little Girl’ and ‘Eyes of a Child.’ The album marked a change in musical style for Lanegan from grunge rock to alternative and blues-styled music.

His solo project also gave Lanegan the chance to demonstrate his powerful writing skills as a lyricist.  His next release as a solo artist was in 1994 with the album ‘Whiskey for the Holy Ghost.’ The album contains thirteen songs such as ‘Riding the Nightingale,’ ‘Kingdoms of Rain’ and ‘The River Rise.’ The album did hugely well amongst critics, earning four out of five stars from Rolling Stone magazine, as well as four and one half stars from webzine AllMusic. His most recent release came in 2004 and was titled ‘Bubblegum.’ The album features fifteen tracks and also features the work of various other musicians who Lanegan had formed friendships with throughout his musical career. On the track ‘Methamphetamine Blues,’ Lanegan teamed up with Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age.
