Hailing from Devon, Muse consists of Matthew Bellamy, whose unique vocals give the band a unique flavour that makes them stand out amongst competitors, Christopher Wolstenholme on the bass and Dominic Howard on the drums. Together their fan base has grown consistently whilst further bands have come and gone, from their early days in the late 1990s that saw them play moderately sized venues to their slow climb to the top towards the end of the 2000s that saw them sell out stadiums around the world. Their epic and energetic live shows are unbeatable and a testament to their ability to entertain a crowd in a unique and memorable way.
Muse tickets sell out fast and when their back catalogue of unbeatable songs and albums are taken into account this is no wonder. Muse first emerged on the rock scene with their debut EP “Muse” and their second EP “Muscle Museum” in 1998. They then surprised everyone with an energetic and memorable debut album in the form of “Showbiz” in 1999. The album featured classic songs such as “Sunburn”, “Muscle Museum”, “Fillip”, “Unintended” and “Uno” and cemented them as rising stars that would slowly earn an enormous fan base that would stay by the side as the years rolled by.
They followed up “Showbiz” with a fan favourite in the form of “Origin of Symmetry” in 2001. It features songs that have remained popular with people to the modern day with radio airplay and repeat listening continuing to 2010, from singles such as “New Born”, “Plug in Baby”, “Bliss” and “Feeling Good” to songs like “Citizen Erased” (possibly their most popular song) and “Space Dymentia”.
“Absolution” followed in 2003, though they also released “Hullabaloo” in 2002. “Absolution” marked their explosion into the mainstream as they sold out arenas and other huge venues in promotion for the record and entertained crowds with new songs like “Hysteria”, “Stockholm Syndrome”, “Butterflies & Hurricanes” and “Time is Running Out”. It is a famous album that left fans wanting more, with anticipation for the next move rising. They did not disappoint with 2006’s “Black Holes and Revelations” featuring songs like “Knights of Cydonia” and “Supermassive Black Hole”.
2009 saw Muse return with their latest album “The Resistance”, which retains their signature style and proves that they are a band that retains its ability to impress. It features songs like “Uprising”, “Resistance” and the three-part symphony “Exogenesis: Symphony”.
With new material impressing just as much as their classic songs, they are a force to be reckoned with and when Muse tickets go on sale they are a popular draw. It signals the moment one of the greatest live bands around return to the stage and show others just how it is done.
