The Seattle grunge scene brought the world many of its most iconic bands, including Alice in Chains, Soundgarden and Nirvana, all of whom made a huge impression when they emerged in the late 1980s/early 1990s. However, only one band have stayed together for the duration of the following two decades and they take the form of Pearl Jam.
Pearl Jam still maintain a strong fan base all around the world and regularly bring out new albums for their adoring audience to listen to from beginning to end. They remain as popular as ever and as a result, expect Pearl Jam tickets to be hot property when they go on sale.
Eddie Vedder is the voice behind the microphone when audience members listen to Pearl Jam, with the rest of the band made up of Mike McCready (lead guitarist), Stone Gossard (rhythm guitarist), Jeff Ament (bassist) and Matt Cameron (drummer). Meanwhile, past members also include Matt Chamberlain, Dave Krusen, Dave Abbruzzese and Jack Irons and together they have managed to create an abundance of well known songs, from iconic tracks like “Alive” and “Even Flow” to more recent work like “The Fixer” and “Got Some”. With Vedder’s distinctive vocals and the impressive skills of the rest of the band, Pearl Jam songs are always recognisable when played in clubs or on the radio. It is one of many ways in which Pearl Jam will have a lasting legacy.
And it all began with the album “Ten” in 1991, which made them famous with instantly recognisable classics “Even Flow”, “Alive” and “Jeremy”. The album would be a huge success in the States, staying in the charts for months and going 13x Platinum – an impressive feat by any standards. Pearl Jam would then follow it up with “Vs” in 1993, “Vitalogy” in 1994, “No Code” in 1996 and “Yield” in 1998. As the decade came to an end, many of their contemporaries had disappeared from the music scene, but Pearl Jam remained and in the last ten years they have continued with albums “Binaural” in 2000, “Riot Act” in 2002, “Pearl Jam” in 2006 and “Backspacer” in 2009.
They have been just as well known for their antics behind the scene as their music releases though and over their career the music press have noted that they seemed to want to tear apart their own popularity and fame. It means that they often refused to make music videos and severed ties with a major ticket retailer. But despite this they have remained at the top and their fans continue to respect them for their decisions in the modern day.
So if you want to relive the classic Seattle grunge scene, get hold of Pearl Jam tickets when they go on sale. The result will be an instantly memorable show full of great songs and compelling performances from experienced musicians. Pearl Jam should not be missed.
