The Maccabees are made up of Orlando Weeks as vocalist/guitarist, Hugo White as guitarist, Felix White as guitarist/backing vocalist, Rupert Jarvis as bassist and Sam Doyle as drummer. They had their first success with the single “X-Ray” in 2005, which received considerable airplay and paved the way for further releases like “Latchmere” and “Precious Time”, before the likes of “First Love” and “About Your Dress” hit the shelves in anticipation of their debut album.
Their first record took the form of “Colour It In” and was released to record stores in May 2007 and further releases from that album include “Precious Time” and “Toothpaste Kisses”. They would eventually follow up the album two years later when “Wall of Arms” hit the stores in May 2009, with songs such as “No Kind Words”, “Love You Better”, “Empty Vessels” and “Can You Give It?” Some of these songs would receive music videos, featuring stop motion animation that would also add to their reputation for being a unique and different voice on the music scene.
