After learning to play the instrument he decided to try and form a band and therefore contacted Troy Donockley, a pipe player who could also play various other instruments. The pair spent a few days experimenting with the instruments to see if they would be able to go anywhere with their ideas. After a couple of days had passed, the pair had put together a total of eight songs. Shortly after making these songs, the pair contacted award winning fiddle player Andy Dinan to play with them, thus forming ‘Adrian Edmondson and The Bad Shepherds’.  This year, the band was nominated for the ‘Best Live Act’ award in folk music.

Seeing the band live is not only a musically interesting experience, but also a funny one. Bearing in mind Edmondson’s comedic background, fans are guaranteed to share a few laughs throughout the band’s live set. The combination of The Bad Shepherds’ intricate music with Adrian Edmondson’s comedic genius will ensure that concert goers enjoy every second of a show by this band.

The band has released one album to date, containing eleven tracks. On this album are tracks such as ‘Down in the Tube Stations at Midnight’, ‘Midnight, Whole Wide World/’Hag With the Money’ and ‘Yan, Tyan, Tethera, Methera!’. Although the band is essentially a folk band, the members prefer to play punk and new wave songs that are re-interpreted to match the band’s style.
