Alton Towers is best known for housing some of the most famous rollercoasters in the UK, from the white-knuckle tour de force that is “Nemesis” to what was the world’s first vertical drop coast in “Oblivion”. But come June audiences picking up festival tickets might want to feast their eyes on Alton Towers Live, an opportunity to see some big name bands.
It isn’t the first time that the Staffordshire theme park has hosted live music, but Alton Towers Live promises to be a stand-out concert event and one that boasts an impressive line-up. So make sure you are first in line when Alton Towers Live tickets become available.
In previous years the theme park has put on shows such as the Funhouse Summer Carnival Tour, which appeared in June 2010 and featured the well known pop star P!nk. Before that some of the names to appear in the park included Tina Turner, Midge Ure, Chris de Burgh, Rick Astley and James, among others. And that’s not taking into account the names that have appeared as part other one-off events and road shows. It shows that Alton Towers is a great place to catch some well known musicians as they make their way to the stage.
For Alton Towers Live, they have attracted an impressive line-up of acts in 2011. JLS appear on the list, having wowed audiences nationwide following their appearances on “The X Factor”. Then there’s McFly, the well known girl group The Saturdays, Eliza Doolittle and Charlotte O’Connor. But that’s not everything – after all it is a theme park – and the event also gives visitors the opportunity to ride on the coasters during the day – such as the newest addition to the arsenal TH13TEEN – and then witness the unforgettable concert at night (From 4.30pm).
Witnessing some well known acts live onstage is the best way of experiencing their musical output – that much is certain – but what makes it even better is witnessing them as part of a festival like Alton Towers Live. Not only will it offer an unbeatable atmosphere it will also provide audiences with the opportunity to ride some of the best known and most popular rollercoasters this country has to offer.
