Leeds Festival Tickets

Currently held at Bramham Park, near the city of Leeds, it has been the scene to some stellar shows over a ten year history and with the Reading Festival has a heritage that goes back to the 1960s. Each year thousands of punters flock to the main stage to witness some of the best live acts in an unbeatable atmosphere.

The Reading Festival has a long history that makes it the longest running music festival still operating today and in 1999 it was joined by the Leeds festival, with the two sharing the same line up but on different days of the weekend. Acts from the Foo Fighters and Pixies to Pearl Jam, Iron Maiden and Placebo have graced the biggest of the stages, whilst an abundance of smaller acts have appeared on the wide array of stages across the site. It means that, as with any festival, attending Leeds offers a wide selection of music all in one place.

The first event took place in 1999, where it was held at Temple Newsam in Leeds to help alleviate the enormous demand for the Reading Festival. Since then it has moved to its current location and attracted more and more audiences each year. In its first two years it attracted huge names to the main stage, including The Charlatans, Blur and Red Hot Chilli Peppers in 1999 and Oasis, Pulp and the Stereophonics in 2000. As the decade continued, the line ups continued to make the Reading and Leeds Festivals some of the best live events of the year, with 2001 seeing Travis, Eminem and Manic Street Preachers and 2002 seeing The Strokes, Foo Fighters, Guns N’ Roses and The Prodigy.

Recent years have lay witness to some huge names in rock and indie, with 2005 attracting the then-newly reunited Pixies, as well as Iron Maiden, with the rest of the decade featuring Muse, Razorlight, Smashing Pumpkins, Rage Against the Machine, Arctic Monkeys, Radiohead and more.

Attending the Leeds festival is a worthwhile and memorable occasion that features a unique atmosphere as well as access to some of the best music in the world. Even if the line up is not to a person’s tastes, they can still be certain of an amazing time as like-minded festival goers add to experience. Therefore Leeds tickets, like tickets to many big-name festivals, are likely to sell out fast and getting hold of them before it is too late inevitably becomes part of the adventure.

Leeds Festival takes place at Bramham Park during the bank holiday weekend in August.
