So what sets Sonisphere apart from other events is that it is in fact a series of summer music festivals that appear on various sites across Europe, with the United Kingdom hosting the event at Knebworth House in England. First held in 2009, the event was a huge success and featured some big name acts on its main Apollo stage and an impressive line-up of smaller acts across the Saturn Stage, Bohemia and the Jagermeister Stage. Beginning as a two day event, the Sonisphere Festival expanded into a three day event in 2010 and attracts tens of thousands of music lovers to Knebworth.

The Sonisphere Festival is organised by Kilimanjaro Live with help from AEG and as well as the UK it also appears in Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Finland and Sweden. The idea is that a core of bands appears at all of the locations, with a unique array of further acts added to the line-up of each country. For 2009 one of the main acts, who appeared on all of the stages across Europe, was Metallica, who appeared on the Apollo Stage in England on the Sunday and made a huge impression on the continent. With these heavy metal juggernauts as one of the main acts, it was certain to be a popular event and attracted up to 40,000 festival goers.
The rest of the line-up included Linkin Park, Heaven & Hell, Nine Inch Nails, Limp Bizkit, Alien Ant Farm, Machine Head, Bullet For My Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold, Alice in Chains, Feeder, The Wildhearts, Oceansize, Young Guns and more.

With 2010 came a new decade and the promise of a bigger event expanding from two days to three, resulting in an increased capacity reaching 60,000 people. The line-up did not disappoint and fans getting hold of Sonisphere tickets for Knebworth were happy to see a list that included Iron Maiden, Rammstein, Placebo, Alice Cooper, Fear Factory, Alice in Chains, Iggy and the Stooges, Fear Factory, Skunk Anansie, Fightstar, Slayer and more.

So it is safe to say that Sonisphere is here to stay. It is a brand new festival boasting an impressive line-up and is a worthy addition to the festival season for the new decade. So if you want to witness a fresh and exciting summer festival, make sure you get hold of Sonisphere tickets as soon as possible.
