Throughout their career, the band has released seven studio albums and various other materials for their massive fan base to enjoy.

Michael Amott, who previously played in other metal bands such as Carnage and Carcass, formed the band. Amott called on his brother Christopher and other Carnage members to create a new band that would create a sound that mixed melodies with aggressive rock sound. The band first released ‘Black Earth,’ gaining success in Japan and Sweden; however, the band was somewhat weak, with Michael writing practically all of the material. After ‘Black Earth,’ the band signed with Century Media, releasing the album ‘Stigmata.’ This album, with tracks such as ‘Beast of Man,’ ‘Tears of the Dead’ and ‘Bridge of Destiny’ allowed the band’s popularity to spread throughout Europe and even to America. In 1999, with D’Angelo as Arch Enemy’s new bassist, the band released ‘Burning Bridges.’ The release of this album saw a shift in the band’s sound, from aggressive heavy metal to more melodic sounds. Shortly after the release of this album, the band’s singer Johan Liiva was then asked to leave the band, and was replaced by female singer Angela Gossow, who had a voice that matched the band’s image more appropriately.

Under the voice of Gossow, the band released their next album titled ‘Wages of Sin,’ which contained tracks such as ‘Heart of Darkness’ and ‘Dead Bury Their Dead.’ This album continued to boost Arch Enemy’s popularity, and also gave them the chan to play alongside acts such as Slayer and Motörhead. Two short years later, Arch Enemy released ‘Anthems of Rebellion,’ an album that again altered the band’s sound by incorporating the use of other voices to create harmonies. Shortly after this album’s release, the band embarked on a Japanese tour.

Although the band has gone through various changes (swapping out band members and musical styles), they have managed to keep hold of their fan base, ensuring that each concert leaves fans just as amazed as the last. To see Arch Enemy performing in concert, it is highly recommended that you pre-purchase a ticket to avoid missing them due to a sold out concert.
