It is a testament to their ability to put together some memorable and awe-inspiring songs that they manage to hold on to this fan base with every new release and having been together for well over a decade they remain an integral part of the rock scene as a whole. So as they emerge on stages in the United Kingdom once again, we can be certain that audiences will be flocking to pick up concert tickets before it is too late.
Though there have been various line-up changes over the years, the team that makes up the Foo Fighters remains a solid and recognisable one and as audiences witness them in the modern day they will experience the skills of Dave Grohl, Chris Shiflett, Nate Mandel, Pat Smear and Taylor Hawkins. These musicians, as well as those that have come and gone over the years, have been behind some of the most memorable songs to emerge in the rock charts. These tracks range from “Monkey Wrench”, “Everlong” and “My Hero” to “Learn to Fly”, “Breakout”, “The One”, “All My Life”, “The Pretender”, “Let it Die” and “Wheels”, amongst others.
And they have also put together some memorable albums as well. Foo Fighters was born in the mid 1990s following the dissolution of Nirvana, of which Dave Grohl was the drummer, and whilst it began as Grohl’s solo project, it would eventually become a full-blown band. Their first album would take the form of 1995’s “Foo Fighters” and this led on to “The Colour and the Shape” in 1997, “There is Nothing Left to Lose” in 1999, “One By One” in 2002, “In Your Honor” in 2005 and “Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace” in 2007. Meanwhile, Grohl has also taken part in the likes of Them Crooked Vultures and drummer Taylor Hawkins has formed Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders.
The result has been some great music over the years and this is why audiences will be picking up rock tickets with haste the moment that they become available. After all, witnessing the Foo Fighters in a live setting is the best place to take in the spectacular work that they have put together over the years as they perform stand-out versions of their popular songs.
But then, the Foo Fighters have always been the masters of stand-out tracks and spectacular live shows and as they once again take to the stage to perform in front of an undoubtedly enormous audience, they are unlikely to disappoint. It is a testament to their enduring appeal that this remains the case after well over a decade in the spotlight.
