Heavy metal does not come much better than Atlanta’s rock icons Mastadon, who return to the stage to showcase a huge sound that has been providing their fans with huge thrills since they released their first EP. Over the years they have produced an abundance of albums and gained more and more fans who flock to purchase Mastadon tickets as soon as they go on sale.
As a band with years of experience under their belts, Mastadon will take to the stage with energy and vigour, to provide their fans with a truly memorable experience they few metal bands could match.
Fronting Mastadon is Troy Sanders on the vocals, joined by the likes of Brent Hinds on guitar, Bill Kelliher on the guitar and Bran Dailor on the drums, with Eric Saner forming part of the band during the first year of its existence from 1999 to 2000. Together they have combined their love of the biggest names in metal and created a band that has enjoyed unprecedented success with songs like “Siberian Divide”, “Colony of Birchmen”, “Capillarian Crest” and “Divinations”. Along the way they have also had a profound effect on other bands, with the likes of Tool crediting them for inspiring them to produce a heavier sound for their 2006 release “10,000 Days”, whilst other musicians have lent their skills to albums like “Blood Mountain”.
So it is safe to say they have come a long way since Brann Dailor and Bill Kelliher met Troy Sanders and Brent Hinds in 1999. They have since earned Grammy Award nominations and worked hard on albums such as “Remission” in 2002, “Leviathan” in 2004, “Blood Mountain” in 2006 and “Crack the Sky” in 2009. They have also released two EPs – 2001’s “Lifesblood” and 2010’s “Oblivion” and are showing no signs of slowing down any time soon.
Mastadon represent metal at its best, with gloriously crafted songs providing all of your head banging needs. Since 1999 they have become rock icons and are held in high regards alongside other bands from the New Wave of American Heavy Metal. When Mastadon tickets go on sale, fans are going to be quick to snap them up and enjoy a band with an abundance of talent on display, proving that they really are Atlanta’s rock icons.
