With lead vocalist Davey Havok leading events onstage, AFI also consists of drummer Adam Carson, bassist Hunter Burgan and guitarist Jade Puget. This line up has remained firmly in place since 1998, with Mark Stopholese and Vic Chalker being part of the original team when the group got together in 1991. Together they form a live group that is unbeatable in quality, with fans all over the country likely to descend upon any venue that showcases their thunderous back catalogue.

AFI first formed whilst lead singer Havok was still in a Californian High School, with the title said to be an acronym for A Fire Inside (with alternatives such as Anthems For Insubordinates and Asking For It). Though they did not know any musical instruments they soon joined forces with drummer Adam Carson and set about creating their sound, briefly disbanded as they went to college before re-appearing to focus solely on music in 1993.

In 1995 they released their debut album “Answer That And Stay Fashionable” under Wingnut Records, with the following year seeing them return with their follow up “Very Proud of Ya”. Their third album during this period took the form of 1997’s “Shut Your Mouth And Open Your Eyes”.

The 90s were rolling out and pretty soon AFI began to achieve a wider degree of success, with their 1997 album followed up by “Black Sails in the Sunset”, which also introduced fans to a different sound. They followed it up with “The Art Of Drowning” in 2000, which helped them continue to grow, until they finally found mainstream success with “Sing the Sorrow” in 2003. It was a turning point that saw them receive award nominations and introduced them to new fans. They followed it up with “Decemberunderground” (2006), which spawned hit singles such as “Miss Murder” and went on to be certified Gold.

AFI returned in 2009 with “Crash Love”, which fans first heard in the September of that year. It proved that they were still at the top of their game and allowed them to continue to perform to adoring fans. As a result, when they return to the stage, AFI tickets should be the only thing on your mind.
