The band, with its six members is unique from many other pop bands today due to the variations of male and female harmonies.
After the band began to be continually talked about in Denmark and other places in Europe, they were signed to Charisma Records, a record label in the United Kingdom. Their first single that released in the UK was titled ‘Fantastic 6,’ and was received extremely well by both the public and by critics. Their first full length album ‘This is Alphabeat’ was a winner with critics also, gaining a full five star rating from The Observer, and four out of five stars from The Guardian. The record contains ten songs, such as ’10,000 Nights of Thunder,’ ‘What Is Happening,’ ‘Touch Me Touching You’ and the hugely popular ‘Fascination.’
After spending a few years with Charisma Records, news was released that the band had been dropped from the label; however, further inspection revealed that the band had made the choice to leave the label when they were presented with the option of doing so. After leaving Charisma Records, fans were relieved to hear that Alphabeat had signed with another record label, Polydor Records. The band was thrilled to be signing with this hugely successful label, and looked forward to releasing their next album with Polydor. This they did: in Autumn of 2009, music website ‘Popjustice’ premiered their newest single ‘The Spell,’ which rapidly became successful with fans across the UK and Europe. The band then released ‘The Beat Is…’ in March of 2010, debuting in the UK Albums Chart at number thirty-nine.

The combination of male and female voices with high-energy pop music makes for a fun-filled concert experience.
