By July of 2006, the pair had signed with EMI Music to record two EP albums and with British company Independiente Records. After signing with Independiente Records, the pair prepared to travel to London for a tour.
Whilst in London, Angus and Julia began writing material that would be on their first full length album ‘A Book Like This’. This album, released in 2007, reached the number five spot on the Australian charts and features tracks such as ‘Wasted’, ‘Just a Boy’ and ‘The Beast’. The album was released again in 2009 with various new songs.
Seeing Angus and Julia Stone perform is a relaxing and enchanting experience. Both individuals have their own unique style that when combined, creates a beautifully harmonic and atmospheric sound. The band have received various nominations, such as the ARIA Awards’ “Best Group” award and “Best Breakthrough Artist” awards.
