Led by music icon Jon Bon Jovi, the band is made up of Richie Sambora, Tico Torres and David Bryan. Together they have enjoyed a career that has spanned three decades and provided millions of fans plenty of successful songs that continue to attract brand new admirers.
Bon Jovi has managed to sell 120 million albums around the world since they formed in 1983, showing that they have come a long way since the days in which a young John Bongiovi attempted to get his music heard in the early 1980s.
John Bongiovi had been in numerous bands during his teenage years, from the Atlantic City Expressway (which also featured David Bryan) to John Bongiovi and the Wild Ones. However, it would be his time working at the Power Station Studios in Manhattan that would prove to be the turning point in his life – but fame would not come easily. Whilst working at the studio he recorded numerous demos and shopped them around to record companies without getting anywhere. Instead, it was the song “Runaway” that would make an impact, featuring on a compilation album of local artists. The song got plenty of airplay locally before branching out to major stations. For the young musician, it was time to call his friend David Bryan and by 1983, he started to go by Jon Bon Jovi and the band was formed.
Since that time, the band Bon Jovi has released numerous albums, including “Bon Jovi” (1984), “7800° Fahrenheit” (1985), “Slippery When Wet” (1986), “New Jersey” (1988), “Keep the Faith” (1992), “These Days” (1995), “Crush” (2000), “Bounce” (2002), “Have A Nice Day” (2005), “Lost Highway” (2007) and the most recent, “The Circle” in 2009.
From these albums, a range of memorable singles have been released, including the anthem “Living on a Prayer” as well as “You Give Love a Bad Name”, “Keep the Faith”, “Wanted Dead or Alive”, “It’s My Life”, “Bed of Roses” and “Have a Nice Day”.
So it is safe to say that Bon Jovi is a band that have made quite an impact over the years, often going on a hiatus before reappearing and introducing themselves to a new generation, meaning that each era has its own signature tune, from “Living on a Prayer” in the 80s to “It’s My Life” at the beginning of the new century.
The acclaimed band, with millions of fans around the world, has appeared in hundreds of thousands of concerts over the years, offering an unbeatable stage show. A chance to see Bon Jovi live is not something to pass up on.
