The spectacular event has managed to raise millions for the charity and fans have had a great time.
International performers have appeared at the Childline Concerts, with the first event in 1997 attracting a multitude of music fans and forming the basis of an annual event that would raise much-needed funds. In its first few years, they had already earned more than a million Euros thanks to music fans and performers such as Boyzone, Robbie Williams, Sophie Ellis Bextor and more.
As the new millennium began the concert continued and by the end of the last decade the event was taking place in the new O2 concert venue, which replaced the former Point Theatre. However, before it took place here it had already featured names such as Girls Aloud, the Sugababes, Busted, All Saints, Blue, S Club 7, Boyzone, Robbie Williams and more and as a result, continued success was certain. When it first appeared at the new O2 venue the line up was better than ever, with Enrique Iglesias leading the likes of Boyzone, Shane Ward, Alpabeat, JLS, Anastacia, The Script, Scouting for Girls, Egoghan Quigg and The Saturdays.
Then 2009 came along and with them Alexandra Burke, the winner of the 2008 series of “The X Factor”, who had the UK’s Christmas number on single with Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”. She has had further success in the years since with more number one singles and a number one debut album with “Overcome”. At the ChildLine Concert of 2009 she was joined by Westlife, JLS, Taio Cruz Cascada, The Boulevard, The Script, The Boulevard, plus plenty more.
When the ChildLine concert returns expect a line up that is better than ever, with fans hoping for the time of their lives when the biggest names in pop music take to the stage. ChildLine concert tickets are popular items and when they go on sale, they are certain to sell quickly, so getting there fast is a must.
