During his long career, Chris Rea has released a wide range of albums and singles and this has led to him selling more than 30 million albums all around the world. Chris Rea released his first album “Whatever Happened to Benny Santini?” in 1978, meaning that is career has spanned over thirty years. When he first started out, he was relatively inexperienced in playing in and around his local Middlesbrough and had not appeared in any local bands. However, this did not stop him from landing a coveted record deal that led to his release of various chart greats.

This debut album featured the song “Fool (If You Think It’s Over)”, which achieved unprecedented success stateside and led to a Grammy Award nomination for Song of the Year. Though it did not win, it made his early days all the more prolific, allowing him to achieve great success at home in the UK. Originally, he had struggled to find a fanbase at home and instead set his sights on conquering mainland Europe, but his seventh album “Shamrock Diaries” eventually found him an audience and pretty soon he found his feet.

Since then, he has released albums such as “On the Beach” (1986), “Dancing with Strangers” (1987), “The Road to Hell” (1989), “Auberge” (1990), “God’s Great Banana Skin” (1992), “Espresso Logic” (1993), “The Road to Hell Part 2” (1999), “King of the Beach” (2000), “Hofner Blue Notes” (2003), “The Blue Jukebox” (2004), “Blue Guitars” (2005) and “The Return of the Fabulous Hofner Blue Notes” (2008).

2009 saw Chris Rea return with his latest release “Still Got So Far to Go: The Best of Chris Rea”, which celebrated his extensive back catalogue of records. For fans, it was everything they could have hoped for and when he hits the stage once again, they are in for a memorable and exciting experience.
