Ever since 1988 Crowbar have been making a big impression both at home in New Orleans and then on stages around the world, so their return to the stage here in the United Kingdom is certain to have an abundance of fans flocking to pick up concert tickets to witness them live.
They have certainly had plenty of time to hone their style and to build up a considerable following and their time in the spotlight has delivered to them considerable praise, with many considering them to be a hugely influential metal band. So with plenty of admiration for the group, their fans are likely to be out in full force.
The band is currently made up of Kirk Windstein (the only original member of the group remaining) as front man, alongside Matthew Brunson on guitar, Patrick Bruders on the bass guitar and Tommy Buckley performing on the drums. Together they have created output to keep them at the top of the sludge metal podium and one of the most successful rock bands to emerge from New Orleans, with songs such as “The Only Factor” and “High Rate Extinction”, alongside albums like “Obedience Thru Suffering” in 1991, “Lifesblood for the Downtrodden” in 2005 and “Sever the Wicked Hand” in 2011.
Such output has made them stand out amongst a rock and pop scene that contains mainstream acts like Journey or Van Morrison, with rock tickets remaining instantly popular when they arrive in town. So expect to hear plenty more from Crowbar as time goes on and for them to continue to release albums well into the future. They are pioneers in the world of hard rock and as such they will continue to find fans worldwide.
