Dead by Sunrise’s debut album “Out of Ashes” was the culmination of work that began back in 2005 when Chester Bennington was hard at work finishing the latest Linkin Park album. Songs that were not suitable to the sound established by the mainstream rock band began to be put aside for another project, with a friendship established between the singer and Ryan Shuck laying the foundations for Dead by Sunrise. However, despite some live performances it would not be until 2008 that all those involved with the group were free to work on the project. Their first single, which took the form of “Crawl Back In”, eventually emerged in 2009 and by the end of the year their debut album was making its mark.
