From well known singles to an array of albums to their name, Dinosaur Jr. are likely to be a huge draw when they take to the stage in front of legions of adoring fans.
Consisting of J Mascis, Lou Barlow and Murph, Dinosaur Jr. have been attracting more and more people to their fan base since the release of their debut album “Dinosaur” in 1985. The group has also included the likes of Mike Johnson and George Berz during their career and whilst they will shortly be arriving at the thirty-year mark as a recording band, the future still looks bright for this popular band.
When they first formed, Dinosaur Jr. went by the name Dinosaur, with legal issues forcing them to change it to its current name back in the 1980s. However, even before Dinosaur they went by the name Mogo, back when Mascis and Barlow signed a record deal with college friend Gerard Cosley’s new independent record label (Cosley had introduced Mascis to some of the music that would inspire him in later years). They first made an impression with their debut album “Dinosaur” in 1985 and they continued to do so with further releases such as “You’re Living All Over Me” in 1987, “Bug” in 1988, “Green Mind” in 1991, “Where You Been?” in 1993, “Without A Sound” (1994), “Hand it Over” in 1997, “Beyond” in 2007 and, most recently, “Farm” in 2009.
Recent years have seen Dinosaur Jr. go from strength to strength as their reunion allowed them to carry on performing on stages around the world. With a brand new record label under their belt they can now continue to add to their extensive back catalogue and show newer band how it is done. It means that Dinosaur Jr. tickets are likely to be a huge draw when they go on sale, making them must have items for a chance to see a legendary band in a live setting.
