After a long and successful career as frontman to the seminal band “Travis”, Healy is now embarking on his own solo career to show the world what he can do.  Boxoffice.co.uk has tickets to see him on his tour: make sure you don’t miss out.

Fran Healy began his life as  a musical showman after joining the band “Travis” as it’s singer and guitarist.  It was clear from the off that he was an incredibly talented songwriter and performer, and that the band were destined for big things.  ’97 saw them release their debut “Good Feeling”, which did moderately well for itself, entering at the ninth position and staying in the top hundred for a good two months.  However, this was nothing compared to what was in store for them.  With the release of their second album “The Man Who” they became literally the biggest alternative rock band in Britain: it went to number one and stayed in the charts for two solid years.  The effect of this album was huge, influencing a whole generation of bands such as Coldplay and many others, who were all attracted by Healy’s winning formula of songwriting.

Travis went onto release a length of fine alums such as “12 Memories”, “The Boy With No Name”, “The Invisible Band” and “Ode to J Smith”: virtually all of the wonderful songs that make up these albums were penned by Fran Healy, showing his prolific qualities and incredible talent.  With his intelligent and touching lyrics that range from kitchen-sink narration to profound epiphanies, he is also a true poet who is a joy to listen to.

Now, however, Healy wishes to go it alone, something fans of Travis are sure to be incredibly excited at.  His debut album “Wreckorder”, released in October 2010, showcases his new sound.  The fact that it features the endorsements and appearances of such classic acts as Paul McCartney and “Neko Case” shows exactly the type of classic heavyweight album that this will be.  There is no excuse to miss out on this: get tickets now.
