Keith Sweat’s career began in the mid seventies as the frontman for the band “Jamilah”. It was here he learnt the techniques of showmanship and vocal control that would popularise him for the rest of his adult life. In the eighties Sweat decided to spread his own wings and work solo. His first album, “Make It Last Forever” was incredibly popular, and defines the genre of “New Jack Swing” for many people around the world. It contained such lastingly popular singles as “I want Her” and “Something Just Ain’t Right”.
He has released a host of other classic albums over the years such as “Still In the Game”, “Keep It Comin’”, “Keith Sweat” , “Didn’t See Me Coming” and “Get Up On It”; his popularity was also further recognised in 1997 by his winning the American Music Awards “Favourite Male R&B?/Soul Artist” Award. He now returns to us in 2010 with a fantastic new album, “Ridin’ Solo”, proving that he is still the best at what he does. This sees Sweat take on a more contemporary R&B and Urban vibe, make cool and chilled out music with his beautiful voice. The album’s single “Test Drive” features the renowned producer and vocalist “Joe”, and is a masterclass in R&B magic: the two men together have created what is perhaps the best R&B single of the year.
