McFly celebrate the aspects of music that glorify youth and teenage romance, their American-influenced brand of British pop-punk endearing them to millions of kids who instantly identified with their lyrical themes and musical soundscape. Their unprecedented commercial success is a tribute to this, showing them to be one of the most relevant bands of the past generation. McFly’s shows are like their music: energetic and full of glistening, pristine pop given a rock and roll edge. They are a real treat to see live, and fans should not forgo the opportunity to get tickets for them here at boxoffice.co.uk.
McFly consist of the joint talents of Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd. They shot to their current wonderful success in 2004 through the help of brother band “Busted”, who have a history with McFly. After Busted took McFly on tour as a support act to show the nation what this band was capable of, the country went immediately wild for McFly’s beautiful brand of teen-pop rock and roll.
With the release of their debut album they won instant success. “Room on the 3rd Floor” went straight to number won and has since gone twice platinum, something quite incredible considering their age. This was soon followed by “Wonderland”, which repeated the success of it’s predecessor by also going straight to the top spot in the UK album charts. This was then followed by “Motion in the Ocean”, “All the Greatest Hits”, “Radio:Active”, and the American release “Just My Luck”.
The band have been decorated with a huge number of prestigious awards, such as the 2004 Smash Hit Awards for Best UK Band, Best Album, Best Video and Best Stars of the year. They repeated this success with the Smash Hit Awards in 2005, but also picked up a BRIT Award for Best Pop Act. 2006 saw them collect the Virgin.net Music Award for Best Group, and 2007 earned them the UK Festival Award for Best Live Act after a particularly stunning performance at V Festival.
As you can see, McFly are a truly excellent band who certainly deserve your attention, so get tickets to see them now while you still can.
