There is no-one in the world that will not have heard of the name Ringo Starr, and if they are one of the few unaware of his solo output they will certainly be familiar with his work as part of the best known band in the world - The Beatles.
Starr, the drummer of the famous Liverpool band, has enjoyed a career that has spanned many decades and not only has this included solo work but also work with various television programmes and films as well – perhaps most famously as the early narrator of “Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends) in the late 1980s. So as he heads to the stage in the UK there is no doubting the abundance of rock fans that will want to pick up concert tickets and witness the acclaimed and well known star live.
Starr was, of course, a part of The Beatles alongside Paul McCartney, John Lennon and George Harrison. From 1970s onwards he has enjoyed a successful solo career that has included various albums and singles and this continues today with his latest appearances onstage in the United Kingdom. It is here that audiences will hope to hear some of his best known work and whilst his set-list will vary from evening to evening, there are plenty of songs out there ranging from “Gone Are the Days” and “Photograph” to “It Don’t Come Easy”, “Now That She’s Gone Away” and “Fill in the Blanks”, among others.
And in addition to these there are further tracks found on the abundance of studio albums he has released over the years. In the 1970s these included “Sentimental Journey”, “Goodnight Vienna” and “Bad Boy”, in the 1980s “Stop and Smell the Roses”, the 1990s “Vertical Man”, the 2000s “Choose Love” and “Liverpool 8” and the 2010s “Y Not”.
Rock tickets therefore give audiences access to a well known musician whose own solo material spans decades and whose work before that was with one of the best known bands the world has ever known. Like artists such as Eric Clapton and Ozzy Osbourne he has enjoyed a long career after the split of his best known work, but he continues to find an audience and will continue to do so well into the future.
