With tens of millions of albums sold all around the world they have been a driving force in the British music scene for many years, with millions of fans who love their mix of blue-eyed soul, reggae, jazz and rock. When they get to the stage they are likely to be an enormously popular draw, so getting hold of Simply Red tickets when they go on sale is a must.

Simply Red has consisted of a wide range of musicians over the years, with the current line up made up of Mick Hucknall, Kevin Robinson, Steve Lewinson, Dee Johnson, Pete Lewinson, Ian Kirkham, Kenji Suzaki, Chris De Margary, Sarah Brown, Dave Clayton and John Johnson. Together they have entertained millions of fans around the world, with former members including Chris Joyce, Tim Kellett and Aziz Ibrahim contributing to their output in some way of a long career.

Mick Hucknall had first formed a band called The Frantic Elevators after attending a Sex Pistols concert in 1976. However, after this group failed to make much of a mark, they split in 1984 with only “Holding Back the Years” as their one major success (which would later be re-recorded as a Simply Red song). However, Hucknall wanted to be a successful musician and soon, alongside manager Elliot Rashman, he began to put a band together that would get them attention from record producers. They adopted the name Red and after a misnomer resulted in ‘Simply Red’, they stuck with it and released a range of studio albums.

Their debut album was “Picture Book” in 1985, from which their single “Money’s Too Tight (To Mention)” appears. They then followed it up with “Men and Women” (1987), “A New Flame” (1989), “Stars” (1991), “Life” (1995), “Blue” (1998), “Love and the Russian Winter” (1999), “Home” (2003), “Simplified” (2005) and “Stay” 2007. These releases have amassed more than 50 million in album sales around the world, making them one of the biggest bands of the last 25 years. It has also made Mick Hucknall a household name and even those who are not familiar with the output of Simply Red are familiar with this musician.

Experiencing great music in a live setting can be a rare treat, but with Simply Red you know you are likely to get a brilliant band in a wonderful location. Getting hold of Simply Red tickets is therefore a must as they take to the stage and entertain an adoring crowd with some iconic songs. Simply Red live should not be missed.
