When people think of some of the most famous guitarists of all time, there are a number of acts that come to mind. Names like Jimi Hendrix or Eric Clapton, amongst others, who have managed to have a huge effect on the music scene as a whole, influencing artists and entertaining fans.
Amongst the big names is another whose work with some renowned rock bands has made him one of the most recognisable names in rock and he takes the form of the London-born Slash, who returns to the stage as a solo artist to show other guitarists just how it is done. With a huge following, he is likely to sell out of concert tickets fast.
His real name is Saul Hudson and, of course, most audiences around the world are familiar with his work for the well known rock group Guns N’ Roses, who are still going today (albeit with only Axl Rose from the original line-up) having released well known songs like “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and more. But in the modern day, after a stint with the band Velvet Revolver as well, he has released solo songs to maintain his place as a renowned guitarist, with tracks such as “By the Sword” and “Back from Cali”, amongst others, making it into the US charts.
And these are just some of the impressive songs found on his debut solo album “Slash”, which appeared in shops worldwide in 2010 (in addition to a live album as well). So whilst he has been a part of albums with Guns N’ Roses such as “G N’R Lies” and Velvet Revolver albums like “Libertad”, he maintains his place at the top with solo albums that will see him perform worldwide. So it is safe to say that we have not heard the last of Slash, despite his many years in the music industry already behind him.
So when it comes to great rock tickets; witnessing one of the world’s most renowned guitarists in a live setting is likely to be an enormously worthwhile experience. He has had plenty of time to hone his style and become an influential force for other musicians to follow in his footsteps and as time goes on he is likely to continue to cement his place in rock history. So with other guitarists like Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix and more, make sure you also consider the hugely talented Slash.
