The Quo return to the stage to show fans and newcomers alike why they have had such longevity in the British music scene. Since the 1960s they have been entertaining people all over the country with songs like “Rockin’ All Over the World”, “Down Down”, “Paper Plane”, “Caroline” and “Whatever You Want”.
Their many decades at the top have given them an allegiance of fans and as a result Status Quo tickets are likely to be in high demand when they go on sale; so getting there fast is a must!
Status Quo currently consists of Francis Rossi, Rick Parfitt, Andy Bown, John ‘Rhino’ Edwards and Matt Latley, though they have also included the likes of John Coghlan, Alan Lancaster, Pete Kircher, Jeff Rich and Roy Lynes in the past. Together they have all contributed to what has been defined as ‘boogie rock’, a form of music that has earned them countless chart topping hits, with more than 60 of their songs entering the charts and 22 of them reaching the top ten. Few bands can boast such claims, but then other bands are not the legendary Status Quo!
Francis Rossi and Alan Lancaster were originally part of bands such as The Spectres (also called The Scorpians) during their time at school. Pretty soon they began to add people to this line up before being secured by a major record company. During this time they changed their name yet again, settling on Trafic, then Traffic Jam, under which they released the likes “Almost But Not Quite There”. The name of the single would ring true to the level of their success at that point, but with a name change to Status Quo they were well on their way to rock stardom.
Under this name they reached new heights with the single “Pictures of Matchstick Men” and they went on to release albums such as “Picturesque Matchstickable Messages from the Status Quo” (1968), which they followed up with “Spare Parts” (1969), “Ma Kelly’s Greasy Spoon” (1970), “Dogs of Two Head” (1971), “Piledriver” (1972), “Quo” (1974), “Blue for You” (1976), “Rockin’ All Over the World” (1977), “Whatever You Want” (1979), “Just Supposin’” (1980), “In the Army Now” (1986), “Rock ‘Til You Drop” (1991), “Don’t Stop” (1996), “Famous in the Last Century” (2000), “Heavy Traffic” (2002), “Riffs” (2003), “he Party Ain’t Over Yet” (2005) and, most recently, “In Search of the Fourth Chord” (2007).
As the years go on it is clear that there is no stopping Status Quo and, like any band, their true home is on the stage. So whether you are a fan of good boogie rock music, or you simply wish to see a legendary band at the top it its game, then getting Status Quo tickets is a must when they go on sale.
