One of the best known Scottish rock bands of the last few decades, Texas make their way back to the stage to remind audiences of the skills and unique style that won them over in the first place.
Ever since the late 1980s audiences have been flocking to see them live and pick up their numerous studio albums and singles and whilst they may have slowed in recent years, singer Sharlene Spiteri has continued to make a name for herself as a solo artist. But they remain a band with plenty to offer and when concert tickets become available for their shows, there are bound to be abundant numbers of fans ready to pick them and see them take to the stage.
As well as Sharleen Spiteri, there are also various other musicians that make up Texas, with founding members such as Ally McErlaine on the guitar and Johnny McElhone on the bass, plus additional members like Tony McGovern, Eddie Campbell, Michael Bannister and Neil Payne added the mix as the years rolled on. But in addition to welcoming new band members they also put together various songs; famous tracks that made their name and range from “Summer Son”, “In Our Lifetime” and “Inner Smile” to “Say What You Want”, “Black Eyed Boy” and “When We Are Together.
Then there are the studio albums, which range from their debut release in 1989 to their output in 2011. Their debut took the form of “Southside” in 1989 and across the 1990s they followed it up with “Mothers Heaven”, “White on Blonde” and “The Hush”, before releasing “Careful What You Wish For” in 2003 and “Red Book” in 2005. As a result they climbed in the charts regularly, receiving plenty of airplay from radio stations and television music channels in the process and picking up an abundance of fans.
So as they return to the stage these fans will be out in full force, ready to witness the well known and acclaimed musicians that have created so many well known songs over the years live onstage.
