So when The Cure announce new dates in which they will take to the stage and perform some classic songs, there are going to be plenty of people striving to get hold of concert tickets to relish in the action.

Robert Smith is, of course, the most famous member of the band and whilst he is well known for his musical skills, which some consider to be pioneering, he is also recognised as a driving force behind the ‘goth’ look. It makes him an iconic performer and it is likely that he will be remembered in his own right for years to come. But when he takes to the stage as part of The Cure he does so alongside fellow-members Porl Thompson on guitar, Simon Gallup n the bass guitar and Jason Cooper on the drums. Other than Smith, Thompson is the only member to have been a part of the original line-up, though is departures from the group over the years make Smith the only constant member.

But whilst line-up changes have certainly been a part of The Cure’s history, it is their songs that have kept them in the spotlight, of which there are plenty. They are well known for tracks such as “Boys Down’t Cry”, “Let’s go to Bed”, “Lullaby”, “Lovesong”, “Friday I’m in Love” and more. Such tracks have made them a popular live act, with rock tickets selling out with each generation as music lovers clamour to be on the front row.

And whilst there are clear comparisons to other groups of the scene, from Echo & the Bunnymen to Depeche Mode, there is no doubting their enduring appeal and the profound effect that they have had on the music scene as a whole. It ensures that they will be remembered well into the future.

And albums such as “Disintegration” certainly help this; released in 1989 it has served as one of their most famous releases and stands alongside a back catalogue that includes “Faith” in 1981, “Pornography” in 1982 and “Mild Mood Swings” in 1996, amongst various others.

So audiences should ensure that they get hold of concert tickets to witness The Cure in a live setting, where they will demonstrate their ability to put on a great show and remind audiences of their appeal. Robert Smith has enjoyed many years at the top of his game and with years of experience on the road and performing all over the world, he knows how to put on a stand-out concert.
