Biffy Clyro to headline Hogmanay
Biffy Clyro fans could see in the new year with the band as they have been announced as the headliners at this year's Hogmanay.
The annual event is held in Edinburgh as part of the Concert in the Gardens event, which has in the past seen names including Kasabian, Blondie, Scissor Sisters and Scottish performer KT Tunstall take to the stage.
Taking place from 21:00 GMT on December 31st 2010, the show will carry on past midnight and into the early hours of January 1st 2011.
Several other acts are due to be announced soon to join Biffy Clyro on this year's line-up.
Pete Irvine, director of Edinburgh's Hogmanay, told BBC News: "Biffy Clyro are the UK festival band of the year. They've made us all feel good. And they're Scottish. What better way to see in 2011?"
As well as hosting the concert, Edinburgh will also stage a variety of other events, including a huge street party and a firework and laser display in the skies over the city as the clocks hit midnight.
