Coldplay, Arctic Monkeys and Foo Fighters Headline T in the Park
The Three Headliners Join Tinie Tempah, My Chemical Romance and Others at the Scottish Festival
It has been announced that Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay and Foo Fighters will be the headline acts at this year’s T in the Park Festival, which takes place every year in Kinross, Scotland and this year appears on the weekend of Friday 8th July 2011. The three headliners join a list of already-announced acts such as Plan B, Tinie Tempah, Jessie J, KT Tunstall, My Chemical Romance, Pendulum, Tom Jones, White Lies, The Script, Deadmau5, Pulp and The Saturdays – plus many others.
Coldplay are, of course, one of the best known British bands in the world and arrive at the festival having already played at the 2003 event and having also appeared at Glastonbury in 2002 and 2005. Featuring the line-up of Chris Martin, alongside Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion, they are famous for songs such as “Yellow”, “In My Place”, “Don’t Panic”, “Speed of Sound”, “The Scientist”, “Viva La Vida” and “Strawberry Swing”, among others, plus albums like “X&Y” in 2005 and “Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends” in 2008.
The band is set to release a new album in 2011 though a title has not yet been revealed.
Meanwhile Arctic Monkeys, with Alex Turner as singer and guitarist, Nick O’Malley on the bass, Matt Helders on the drums and Jamie Cook on the guitar, are famous for songs such as “I Bet You Look Good on the Dance Floor”, “Brianstorm” and “My Propeller”, among others.
They are also due to release a new album in 2011, though that too has not yet been given a title.
T In the Park is amongst the best known musical festival in the United Kingdom and certainly the highest profile in Scotland. It has been taking place since 1994 and in that time has welcomed an array of well known musicians to stages across the site. Last year it was the turn of Muse, Eminem and Kasabian to headline, whilst Kings of Leon, The Killers and Blur headlined in 2009.
T in the Park takes place from Friday 8th July 2011 to Sunday 10th July 2011.
