Freddie Fox and Phoebe Waller-Bridge join Hay Fever
The Two Actors Joining the Likes of Lindsay Duncan in Noel Coward’s 1924 Play in the West End
It has been announced that more actors have been added to the cast of the upcoming “Hay Fever” at the Noel Coward Theatre, joining actors like Lindsay Duncan, Jeremy Northam,Kevin McNally and Olivia Coleman. They are Freddie Fox, who has appeared in shows at the Old Vic Theatre, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, whose credits include the likes of “Tribes” at the Royal Court Theatre. The show is set to open in February 2012.
Fox’s credits at The Old Vic Theatre include the relatively recent productions “Flea In Her Ear” and “Cause Celebre”, though he has also appeared in various television programmes and movies since 2009. These include “St Trinian’s 2: The Legend of Fritton’s Gold” in 2009, “Worried About the Boy” in 2009, “Any Human Heart” in 2010 and “The Shadow Line” in 2010. He can also be seen in the recent movie version of “The Three Musketeers”, which opened in cinemas back in October.
Meanwhile, Phoebe Waller-Bridge has also appeared in various shows in the capital, from venes likes the Bush Theatre, where she has appeared in “Sixty Six Books”, “Like a Fishbone” and “2nd May 1997”, and the Royal Court Theatre, where she has appeared in the likes of “Tribes”. Her other credits include “The Cafe”, “Doctors”, “The Night Watch” and “How Not to Live Your Life”, in addition to the upcoming movie about former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher entitled “The Iron Lady”.
“Hay Fever” focuses on Lindsay Duncan’s character of Judith Bliss who was once a big star on the London theatre scene and is currently playing out her retirement for all its worth. One weekend she invites a young suitor to accompany her on a country retreat, unaware that her husband Simon (Fox) and their two children have inadvertently ended up with the same idea. The result is a weekend of scandal, secrets and awkwardness.
“Hay Fever” is set to replace “Million Dollar Quartet” at the Noel Coward Theatre with arun that takes it from Thursday 23rd February 2012 (previews from Thursday 9th February 2012) to Saturday 2nd June 2012.
