Keira Knightley 'may make West End return'
Keira Knightley may soon be seen again on the West End stage after writer Christopher Hampton stated he would love for her to perform in his new play.
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, Hampton explained that he hopes she will consider a part in the production he is currently working on for the National and continue the success of her Olivier-nominated role in The Misanthrope.
He told the newspaper: "I think Keira is magnificent on stage.
"I would love to have her involved."
If Knightley was to take part in the new work it would not be the first time that the pair had worked together, as Hampton wrote the adaptation of Ian McEwan's novel Atonement and new film A Dangerous Method, in both of which the actress took the lead role.
Co-staring Viggo Mortensen and Vincent Cassel, the film looks into the intense relationship between Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung and their research into psychoanalysis.
