Wimbledon fortnight gets underway
Sports fans with Wimbledon tickets are gearing up for a fortnight of top quality tennis.Roger Federer, the defending champion, will be aiming to keep his title in the men's tournament this year.
However, the six-time winner believes he will face strong competition from Rafael Nadal, the Spaniard who memorably beat him in the 2008 final.
"It's going to be incredibly hard to beat him here at Wimbledon," Federer admitted.
Despite this, he added that he still believes he is in with a chance of winning.
British number one Andy Murray will also be hoping to stay in the tournament for the whole two weeks following a poor run of form in recent months.
Meanwhile, defending women's champion Serena Williams is looking to retain her hold on the trophy this year.
She faces competition from the likes of her sister Venus, while Belgian star Kim Clijsters has already issued a statement of intent by thrashing unseeded player Maria Elena Camerin.
