The classic story of Aladdin comes to the stage of the London Coliseum under the stewardship of the Birmingham Royal Ballet.
The story has been told around the world ad begins with the young street urchin embarking on an adventurous journey that leads from humble beginnings to huge riches and the love of a good woman. There’s also the issue of a certain magic lamp that provides him with wishes beyond his dreams. This is a ballet that was first devised in 2008 by the National Ballet of Japan.
The Birmingham Royal Ballet provides something that will have audiences clamouring for theatre tickets as they give this classic tale a podium on the stage of the London Coliseum. The group is a prestigious institution and one that stands up alongside the English National Ballet in terms of quality. Since the late 1940s, when they were known as Sadler’s Wells Theatre Ballet before their move to the Midlands city, they have been at the top of their game.
So in a year that also brings the likes of La Boheme to the stage of the London Coliseum, Aladdin runs at the venue from Wednesday 20th March 2013 to Sunday 24th March 2013.
