Thanks to the glowing success of its 2016 appearance, Amaluna is revived at the Royal Albert Hall as Cirque du Soleil make their annual pilgrimage to the world-famous venue.
If it is great a circus performance featuring some death defying stunts, mixed with a romantic story involving undying love then you will be right at home with Amaluna as it brings all of that to the majestic auditorium of the Royal Albert Hall.
It plays at the venue for over a month early in 2017, bringing some of the world’s best acrobats to the venue to perform under the canopy of some unforgettable music.
This is why audiences and critics responded so positively to the proceedings last year, with concertgoers thrilled to witness acrobatic stunts that defied the imagination amongst a spectacular set and a story that saw shipwrecked men interactive with the inhabitants of an island and the love that blossoms between two of them.
Our story opens with the coming of age ceremony for an island queen’s daughter and a storm that Prospera conjures, stranding the men on the island. It has to be seen to be believed.
Audiences have come to expect greatness from Cirque du Soleil of course. Ever since the company was founded in the mid-1980s it has been at the forefront of circus performance around the world. It has had a regular presence at the Royal Albert Hall since 1996 and despite a short break in the early 2000s it has been returning annually with shows like Saltimbanco, Dralion and, more recently, Totem. Amaluna gained its UK premiere here last year and is now back by popular demand.
Amaluna by Cirque du Soleil runs at the Royal Albert Hall from Thursday 12th January 2017.
