Richard Alston - An Italian In Madrid

Age Restriction: Age 5+

With four pieces performed on the same bill, this production at Sadler’s Wells offers some alluring and captivating dances led by Richard Alston’s new piece An Italian In Madrid.

The bill also includes Jonathan Goddard and Liam Riddick’s Mazur, Martin Lawrance’s new piece Stronghold and Richard Alston’s Brisk Singing.

An Italian In Madrid is set to feature Vidya Patel onstage. She was a finalist for BBC Young Dancer whose stile includes Indian forms that will add to the variety of styles – influenced by Domenico Scarlatti - that are explored onstage.

Richard Alston is a well known British choreographer whose work has been seen across the country, with pieces performed for the Royal Ballet and beyond. He created the Richard Alston Dance Company in 1994 and has since choreographed some masterful works that have ensured his legacy well into the future. These will be confounded with this show at Sadler’s, which not only features An Italian In Madrid, but also Brisk Singing.

It appears at the Islington venue of Sadler’s Well, which regularly welcomes some of the biggest names in international dance. 2016 alone sees shows appear such as the English National Ballet’s She Said.

This bill, featuring An Italian In Madrid, Mazur, Stronghold and Brisk Singing, appears at Sadler’s Wells from 29th March 2016.
