Anything Goes

The New Wimbledon Theatre welcomes Cole Porter’s Anything Goes as the fantastic musical embarks on a UK tour. It is a classic story of a man going to great lengths to get the girl of his dreams featuring some talented performers like Hugh Sachs, Jane Wymark, Debbie Kurup, Stephen Matthews, Zoe Rainey and Matt Rawle.

They have all entertained audiences in various different shows over the years and as they head to the New Wimbledon Theatre under the direction of Daniel Evans they have the opportunity to do so Once again.

Focusing on the character of Billy Crocker (Rawle), we discover that Hope Harcourt (Rainey) is set to get married to the British aristocrat Lord Evelyn Oakleigh (Matthews). Harcourt is the girl of Crocker’s dreams and he is not going to give up that easily, so he takes drastic measures to win her back. Stowing away on S.S. American we witness his journey across the Atlantic with many passengers along for the ride, as well as songs like I Get A Kick Out Of You, You’re The Top, Be Like The Bluebird and Anything Goes.

Matt Rawle has appeared in a range of productions over the years and prior to taking up Billy Crocker in this fantastic production he accumulated credits like Cabaret in London in 2012 and Pippin at the Menier Chocolate Factory in 2011. He was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award in 2009 for Zorro.

Anything Goes is at the New Wimbledon Theatre from Thursday 29th January 2015.
