The stand-out Mumbai musical Beyond Bollywood makes its debut in London’s West End from May 2015, giving UK theatregoers the chance to witness a unique and awe-inspiring spectacle at the London Palladium. Featuring great songs and dance routines that get to the heart of the classical Indian folk style, the production has a lot to offer those flocking to pick up theatre tickets.

With choreography and direction from the talented Rajeev Goswami and some memorable songs from lyricist Irfan Siddiqui and composer Salim-Sulaiman it is likely to much talked-about production and one that will be a must-see for fans of Bollywood and newcomers alike.

But in addition to the mentioned song and dance numbers, Beyond Bollywood also boasts a great story as well. We are introduced to Shaily Shergill, who is travelling away from her home in Munich to fulfil the wishes of her dying mother. She is heading for India, where she will bring new life to the failing theatre that is owned by her family, putting in great time and effort to stage a show that will be talked about for some time to come.

Rajeev Goswami, directing and choreographing, brings plenty of experience to the table in bringing Beyond Bollywood to life. He has worked on numerous films in Bollywood, including Love Breakups Zindagi, Fashion, Roadside Romeo, Khushboo, Cash and Dil Maange More!!! among others. His previous stage work, meanwhile, includes awards shows and beyond.

The London Palladium is the home of Cats prior to the opening of Beyond Bollywood, offering great contrast at the venue as the year progresses. There are also solo performances from Bruce Forsyth and John Barrowman at the venue in May (both on Sundays when Beyond Bollywood isn’t playing).

Beyond Bollywood, meanwhile, runs at the London Palladium from Friday 8th May 2015.
