The famous opera “Carmen” is celebrated all over the world for its classic score and its compelling story and now it comes to the London Coliseum for a wonderful production under the English National Opera. With Ruxandra Donose as Carmen and additional performers like Adam Diegel and Leigh Melrose, among others, the company brings new life to the classic opera from George Bizet and provide London theatre audiences with something truly memorable.  So this is not something to miss.

Donose will be portraying the title role in the production, with Ryan Wigglesworth providing the score, as we are transported to 1830s Seville. Carmen is the gypsy girl that attracts a young and inexperienced soldier amongst the host of lovers she has under her control. Don Jose, the soldier, leaves his lover to be with Carmen and when she leaves him to attract the attentions of bullfighter Escamillo, he is left devastated.

It is celebrated as one of the most popular operas for audiences around the world and as a result it is the perfect story to be told on the stage in Covent Garden.

Audiences will have the unbeatable opportunity of picking up theatre tickets to witness a new presentation of “Carmen” when it lands at the London Coliseum for a run beginning on Wednesday 21st November 2012.
